about-1

Association of Global Universities (AGU)

The Association of Global Universities (AGU) was established to create a common international space where Universities and Educational Institutions can be present, visible, and connected within an international context.

Across regions, institutions increasingly engage with international partners, learners, researchers, and professional bodies. AGU provides a structured platform that supports this global orientation while respecting the independence, identity, and local context of each institution.

Why AGU Exists

Global engagement in higher education and institutional activity has expanded significantly, yet many institutions lack a neutral and structured space for international institutional representation and participation.

AGU was created to address this gap by offering a membership-based international platform focused on institutional presence, structured listing, and global participation, without entering regulatory or evaluative roles.

Scope of AGU

AGU works with:

  • Universities
  • Educational and academic institutions
  • Research-oriented and education-linked professional organisations

Participation in AGU takes place through institutional membership, global directories, and engagement in international initiatives and professional frameworks, including the Confederation of Professional Associations (CPA).

about-4

An Independent and Neutral Platform

AGU functions as an independent international association.

It does not operate as an accrediting body, regulatory authority, or approving agency. AGU does not assess academic quality, validate programmes, or replace national or international education systems. Its role is to provide a neutral framework for global representation and participation.

  • Voluntary participation
  • Transparency and clarity
  • Respect for regional systems
  • Gradual and responsible growth

A Global Outlook

AGU maintains a global outlook that values diversity across regions, systems, and institutional types. It seeks to provide a shared international environment where institutions can engage constructively, exchange perspectives, and participate in global academic and professional dialogue.

Confederation of Professional Associations

Confederation of Professional Associations (CPA)

The Confederation of Professional Associations (CPA) is a global framework of AGU bringing together professional associations from different disciplines and regions on a single international platform.

CPA provides structured global listing and visibility for professional associations. It does not operate as a regulatory, accrediting, or approving body.

AGU hosts 100 Professional Associations organised into 20 Global Clusters. Each association opens on its own dedicated page.
